The fire broke out around 4:42 a.m. at D&K Tires on Greene Street after surveillance footage captured the suspect igniting a flammable device on a window air conditioning unit.

Cumberland Fire Department crews arrived at the two-bay auto repair shop to find flames shooting from a window. Firefighters contained the blaze to an office area, but smoke, soot, and water damage spread throughout the business.

Video surveillance shows the suspect walking down Greene Street from the Dollar General area around 4:30 a.m. The suspect stops, lights the device on the air conditioner, and walks away towards Greene Street, disappearing out of view.

Investigators describe the suspect as being a white man who is approximately 5-foot-8 with a large build. He was wearing loose-fitting pants, possibly sweatpants, and a flannel shirt, and walks with a limp.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is urged to contact the Western Regional Office at 301-766-3888 or 301-729-5540.
